Water Bottles

A dog water bottle carries fresh water and has a built-in trough or bowl your dog drinks from, so you don't need a separate dish on walks. Choose 250 to 450 ml for short walks and small dogs, 500 to 600 ml for hikes and bigger dogs, and a 2-in-1 bottle when you also carry kibble.

How to choose a dog water bottle

  • Capacity: Match the bottle to the length of your outing and the size of your dog. Small bottles are lighter to carry; larger ones save refills on hikes and road trips.
  • How it dispenses: Most of our bottles let you squeeze or push water into the trough and pour the leftover back, so nothing goes to waste.
  • How you carry it: Pick a clip-on bottle for your bag or belt loop, a handle for hand carry, or a slim bottle that fits a car cup holder.
  • Cleaning: Bottles that come apart are easier to rinse and dry between uses, which keeps water fresh.

Frequently asked questions

How much water should I bring for my dog on a walk?

It depends on your dog's size, the temperature and how long you will be out. A small bottle is usually enough for a short neighborhood walk, while hikes, hot days and larger dogs call for more, plus a refill plan. Offer water at regular breaks rather than waiting for your dog to look thirsty.

How do you clean a dog water bottle?

Empty it after each outing, then rinse the bottle and trough with warm, soapy water and let all parts air-dry fully before closing it up. Bottles that come apart, like our water and food cup, are easier to clean in the corners. Check seals and troughs for buildup now and then.

Are dog water bottles leak-proof?

Many travel bottles are designed to resist leaks with a seal, a lock or a trough that closes against the bottle. Our 2-in-1 bottle uses a silicone sealing ring, and the slip-on bowl lets you close your bottle's own cap. For any bottle, close it fully and carry it upright in your bag when you can.

Can my dog drink from a regular water bottle?

Most dogs can't drink easily straight from a bottle and end up spilling more than they swallow. A slip-on silicone bowl turns a standard disposable bottle into a drinking dish, while a dedicated dog water bottle has its own trough so you can pour, let your dog drink and save the leftover.
