A belly band is a soft fabric wrap that fastens around a male dog's waist and covers the area where urine comes out. It is used to help protect furniture and floors from marking, house-training accidents or occasional leaks in older dogs. Washable bands can be laundered and reused instead of thrown away.
Belly bands are designed for male anatomy, so they usually don't work for female dogs. Female dogs do better in diaper pants that cover the rear, which is helpful during heat cycles or for leaks. Our washable diaper pants come in sizes S, M and L for that purpose.
Check it often and change it as soon as it is wet or soiled. Leaving a damp wrap on can irritate the skin. Take it off for regular breaks, clean and dry the area before putting on a fresh one, and never use a diaper as a substitute for regular potty trips outside.
Washable pads can be useful during house training as an indoor backup spot or under a crate or playpen. They cut down on disposable waste and go straight into the washing machine. Keep the goal in mind, though: reward your puppy for going outside and gradually reduce how much you rely on indoor pads.
